Revenue opens consultation to last allotment of tax refunds
At 9 o´clock this Thursday, the Brazilian Federal Revenue will open consultation of the last multi-period allotment of Individual Income Tax (2011, 2010, 2009, and 2008 periods). To find out whether his tax statement was approved, the tax-payer should access the website of the Federal Revenue. The federal organ informs that except for the weekend of the 10th and 11th, the service will not be available due to technical maintenance in the Federal Data Processing Service (SERPRO, in Portuguese).

The values of the tax refunds will be credited on the 15th of December, in bank agencies, for a total of 110,525 tax-payers, totaling R$ 255,091,276.88. For the period of 2011, tax refunds for 86,979 tax-payers will be credited, totaling R$ 211,390,978.56. Of this total, 10,201 refer to those tax-payers dealt with under the Law # 10.741 of October 1st, 2003 (Senior Citizens Statute).

The refunds will be available in the bank during the course of a year. If the tax-payer does not affect withdrawal within this time, he should petition it via the Internet, utilizing the Electronic Application – Request of Tax Refund Payment, or directly on the e-CAC, at the Individual Income Tax Service.

In the event the amount is not credited, the tax-payer can go to any Bank of Brazil agency or call the Help Desk at 4004-0001 (in the capital cities), 0800-729-0001 (for other locations), and 0800-729-0088 (for the hearing impaired), to schedule the credit into a checking account or savings account under his name in any bank.
